Privacy Policy for PracticeStudio

Effective September 12, 2026 · myrosindust.com · Includes shipping and refund terms

For parents, in short: This site is run by one person — Andrea Yun, a cellist and cello teacher trainer in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It keeps your child's name, your contact email, their practice activity, and — only if you order something to be mailed — a shipping address. No personal information is sold, rented, or used for advertising. You are welcome to request to see or have me delete any of it.

Who runs this site

andreayun.com and myrosindust.com is operated solely by Andrea Yun. There is no company behind it and no staff. When this policy says "I" or "me," it means Andrea.

You can reach me at ayun@umich.edu regarding anything on this page.

What this site collects

When an account is created

Accounts are handled by Memberstack, which stores:

When a user requests a check-in on a practice video, an automated email – including user name, user email, and video information – is sent to me. I then forward the email to the private teacher listed on the user's profile. (If no teacher is listed, then I contact the user to connect for the check-in.) For this reason, when a user account is created, I may contact the listed teacher to warn them that these check-in emails might pass by their inbox.

While a subscriber uses PracticeStudio

The practice features keep a small amount of activity data so the site can show progress and award Rosin Dust:

I also keep a simple activity log — the student's name, what they did, how many points it earned, and which page they were on — in a spreadsheet that only I can see. I use it to understand how people are using the site, and, where I happen to be the student's own teacher, to follow their practice between lessons. It records activity on this site only. It does not follow anyone around the internet.

When something is redeemed from the Mail Room

The order form collects the student's name, an adult email address, whether the item is being picked up or shipped, and any note added to the order. If shipping is chosen, it also collects a postal address. Orders are emailed to me and stored with my website host so I can fulfil them.

A parent or guardian should be the one filling in that form.

Payments

Subscriptions and shipping are handled by Stripe. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and never reach this site or me — I only see that a payment succeeded.

Why I collect information

What I never do with your information

Who else handles this information

Running a website means using a few services. Each one only ever sees the part it needs:

I have no control over what those companies do with data their own services collect, so their privacy policies apply alongside this one.

Children

Most people using PracticeStudio are children, and I take that seriously.

If your child is under 13, US law (COPPA) requires a parent's consent before collecting personal information from them. In practice that means:

If you tell me to delete your child's information, I will delete account information and close the account. Practice history cannot be recovered afterwards, so just let me know if you'd like a copy first. Please know that I may have to keep some of your order information for my tax purposes, but I can delete your child's name off of the order information if you request I do so.

How long it's kept

Your choices

Write to me at ayun@umich.edu and I will:

The only thing I cannot delete will be order records. Although I can delete your shipping address, I must keep order records for up to 7 years for my tax records.

Rosin Dust and the Practice Streak cards at the top of the page can also be switched off from the Account page at any time, which stops the counters showing and stops the Rosin Dust amounts from being listed next to videos. The website still stores the Rosin Dust and Practice Streak watch information in case the user wants to re-instate the counters. The Rosin Dust, Practice Streak, and video log can all be viewed in the Activity section of the Account page, even if the Dust and Streak counters are toggled to "off."

Security

The site runs over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored by Memberstack, not by me, and I cannot see them. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe, and I cannot see those details. The activity spreadsheet is private to my own account. No system is perfect, and I won't pretend otherwise — but the amount of information here is deliberately small, which is the best protection there is.

Shipping, redemptions and refunds

Although store terms don't belong in a privacy document, it's kept here so everything is in one place for users and parents/guardians to read.

Rosin Dust

Rosin Dust is earned by practicing. It is not money, has no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for money or transferred between accounts. It can only be spent inside PracticeStudio.

Redeeming from the Mail Room

Mail Room items are real LEGO® bricks. Rosin Dust is deducted when an order is sent. If the item is out of stock, I will contact the email address on file, and the Rosin Dust will be returned to the account total.

Getting it to you

Nothing ships until the shipping fee is paid. If I can't fulfil an order after you've paid, I will refund the shipping fee in full and return the Rosin Dust.

Subscriptions

You can cancel a subscription at any time from your Account page. Access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, and part-months aren't refunded. If something has gone wrong — a charge you didn't expect, or access that didn't work — write to me and I'll sort it out.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects how your child's information is used, I'll tell families directly rather than relying on you to notice.
